Fixed Brace Treatment

Fixed braces are an effective method for correcting misaligned teeth. They consist of metal brackets and wires that gradually shift teeth into proper alignment. Treatment typically lasts from several months to a few years, depending on the severity. Regular visits to the orthodontist are necessary for adjustments.

Preparation of teeth

A full dental assessment will be carried out, including checks on gum health, shade analysis, and an evaluation of your smile. X-rays will be taken if necessary to assist in planning your treatment.

Treatment Plan & Consent

If no preparatory treatment is needed and the gums and teeth are healthy, a tailored treatment plan will be created. We will clearly explain the options available, including the costs, timeline, benefits, and potential risks.

Treatment Visit

Based on your specific dental needs—such as whitening or other procedures—composite bonding may be carried out during your first treatment visit.

Review

A review appointment is offered to ensure the final smile result meets expectations. Minor adjustments can be made during this visit for the best possible outcome.

YOUR 3-STEP JOURNEY TO A SMOOTH BRACES EXPERIENCE WITH A TRUSTED STRATFORD ROAD DENTIST IN BIRMINGHAM

If you’re undergoing orthodontic treatment with braces, consistent care and expert guidance from the team at Sunna Dental ensures the best results with minimal discomfort. Conveniently located on Stratford Road in Birmingham, our practice is committed to delivering calm, private dental care at every stage of your treatment journey. From handling unexpected breakages to supporting you through the final phase of care, we’re here to help you achieve a healthy, confident smile with ease.

Breakages and Repairs

Should your brace break or a bracket become loose, it’s important that you contact the practice as soon as possible. Attempting to fix it yourself can cause further complications, so we strongly advise against it. In the meantime, orthodontic wax can be applied to cover any sharp or uncomfortable edges until you are seen. Repeated breakages may impact your progress and delay your final result, which is why swift communication and professional assistance are essential.

Orthodontic treatment requires regular monitoring, and timely adjustments are crucial to ensure your teeth continue to move as planned. Missing an appointment doesn’t just disrupt your schedule—it can extend your overall treatment time and compromise the quality of the final outcome. If you are unable to attend a scheduled visit, please inform our team in advance so we can rebook you and keep your treatment on track without delay.

When your teeth have reached their desired position, your braces will be removed. However, this is not the end of your journey. To maintain the alignment achieved, you will be provided with retainers and detailed instructions on how and when to wear them. Wearing your retainers consistently is vital to prevent your teeth from shifting back over time. With proper retention and ongoing support from our team, you can enjoy the long-term benefits of your beautifully aligned smile.
